This week, inspired by Joe Pulizzi’s Content Inc. podcast I talk about how “hope is not a strategy” and recommend reading Ahmed Hasan’s article “Don’t stop the marketing music, change the tune“.
In this week’s interview I chat to the former EMEA head of Vayner Media Eric Fulwiler who is now COO of 11:FS, a challenger consultancy that builds and launches next-generation digital propositions for some of the biggest banks in the world.
It’s a fascinating conversation as we discuss Eric’s background in non-profit, how he came into marketing, growing Gary Veynerchucks Vayner Media in Europe, advice he would give to marketers in start-ups, how marketers need to get out of the silos relevant and how we should chuck marketing for the sake of marketing into the Rockstar CMO Swimming Pool.
Finally, we are back in the virtual Rockstar CMO bar, where Robert Rose tries to guide me through making a new cocktail, and we discuss doing a favor for our audiences, trust and the perennial favorite topic of content marketers, whether we should gate our content.
Enjoy!
