In this episode, Ian Truscott, Founding Editor of Rockstar CMO, suggests something to take a look at from our publication, he chats to marketing leader David Howland and again joins Robert Rose for a cocktail.
In light of the current events in the US, if you are looking to do more than just publish a social post with a black background Ian suggests you check out a previous issue of Rockstar CMO: The People Are People Issue. This issue is named after the Depeche Mode song “People Are People” and is focused on diversity. It contains some great advice from our contributors, in particular, the work of L.Michelle Smith and Sydni Craig Hart, in promoting diversity, black businesses, and minority entrepreneurs, and he recommends Michelle’s culture soup podcast.
In his catch-up with David Howland (who we first interviewed last year for a backstage Q&A), we learn about what inspires this CMO, from his first job as a cabinet maker, through leading a digital marketing transformation at Nasdaq and his role as CMO at Longview solutions. And, why he wants to chuck “That Marketing has never led to a single closed-won deal? Or that often repeated critique of marketing and brand awareness as ineffective and soft” into the Rockstar CMO Swimming Pool.
And finally, we unwind with a cocktail with Robert Rose, Chief Trouble Maker at The Content Advisory, who’s one thought is about creativity and the upcoming Content Tech Summit.
